Chapter 6
First day
I was waked by Darius shaking me.
“Wake up Mia you’ve got to get ready for school.” Darius said
“What time is it” I said
“Its 7:00 and you’ve got to be at school at 9:00, so come and get your breakfast when your ready.” Darius said
“Alright I will just get showered and changed and I will be down.” I said
I got up and went to the bathroom. The shower was so nice and I didn’t really want to get out of it. When I was finish I went to my cupboard and got my uniform out. This was a white t-shirt, blue tie, blue tartan jacket, blue tartan skirt which only went a bit above my knees and knee high white socks. I put it on and found that there was a school bag to match it, which was already packed for me. Then I did my hair which I decided to leave down. Then I went down stairs to get some breakfast. I walked into the kitchen to the sight of Darius cooking eggs and bacon, Joseph reading the paper and mum sitting there eating some cereal.
“Morning, what would you like for breakfast darling, there’s eggs and bacon or cereal or toast.” Mum said
“I think I just have toast and jam please.” I said
“Alright, just grab some.” Mum said  
I sat there just waiting for somebody to say something but nothing was said until Darius finished cooking the eggs and bacon.
“Did you sleep well Mary because I know how hard it can be to get sleep in a unfamiliar place?” Darius said with one of his cheeky smiles at me.
“Yes, I did sleep well, didn’t wake up once.” Mum said
“That’s good then.” Darius said
“You look very nice in your uniform Mia.” Mum said
“Yes she does look quite nice.” Joseph said
“She does scrub up petty good.” Darius said
“Thank you, except you Darius.” I said
“What did I say something not right?” Darius said
“Don’t you wry your pretty face about it?” I said
“Darius is going to be taking you to school and making shore that you get your papers together because me and your mother got to do something’s, if that’s ok.” Joseph said
“That’s alright, what time are we leaving.” I said
“Well I was think that we should leave at 8:15 to give you time to sign in and do all that stuff so you’re not late for class.” Darius said
“That will be fine.” I said
So we sat there in silence for another 10 minutes until it was 10 past 8.
“We better head off now.” Darius said
“Ok, see ya, Mum and Joseph.” I said
“Hope all goes well and see you to afternoon.” Joseph said
“Have a good day and don’t get into trouble.” Mum said
I grab my bag and followed Darius to the garage door. When I walked out I couldn’t believe all the cars and some were really expensive.
“The black Mercedes is what where going in, near the door.” Darius said
“What a beautiful car, is it yours.” I said
“Yes this one is mine, do like Mercedes?” Darius said
“Yes but I am more of a Aston Martin person.” I said
“I’ve got one of them to, over there the silver one.” Darius said
“Nice you will have to take me for a ride some time in it.” I said
“Of course, I will.” Darius said
We got into the car and it’s was so nice inside. He started the car and this really loud rock music came on.
“Do you think it’s too loud?” Darius said
“No the louder the better.” I said
We both just laughed and then we drove out of the garage. We drove pass all the big houses and even some shops which some of them look pretty cool. Then we came to the school which was a big old gothic looking building even had gargoyles on it which were pretty cool. He parked in the car park in front of the school where visitors parked. We got out of the car and started to walk towards the building.
“What do you think about it?” Darius said
“It looks kinda cool, I like the gargoyles and it also looks very posh.” I said
“Its really good I went here for a while.” Darius said
“Do you think I will fit in but.” I said
“Of course you will.” Darius said
“I hope so.” I said
He opened the door for me and we walked in and to the right was the office.
“This is Mia Parker; she’s the new girl starting today.” Darius said
“Oh, we been expecting you and I hope you have a good day, you’ve only got a few papers to sign. Here you go.” the lady said
“Thank you.” I said
So I sign all the papers and Darius had to sign in a couple of spots.
“We have finished with these.” I said
“Thank you for that and here is where your class’s are and first you have home class and you can go and find where that is.” the lady said
“Thank you.” I said
“Let’s go and find your class we still have half hour before you have class.” Darius said
The class was really easy to find it was the first class on the right on the second level and my locker was right outside it.
“Since we found that, would you like to go and wait near the car for a while?” Darius said
“That will be fine.” I said
So we walked back to the car. When we got to the car Darius jumped onto the boot and tapped beside him signalling that I should sit there so I climbed on.
“So what classes are you doing?” Darius said
“English, Maths, Biology, Sports and Art.” I said
“That’s pretty cool” Darius said
We just sat there talking about different random things. Until people started to arrive and were kind of looking at us weirdly.
“I guess you better be heading of now its 8:50.” Darius said
“Yeah I better be” I said
“Alright see ya to afternoon, I’ll come an pick you up.” Darius said
“See ya” I said
We got of the car and he got in it and I started to walk of and then I heard the horn and him waving goodbye and I waved bake but I was so embarrassed because everybody looked at me when he did it. I walked into the school feel like a freak because everybody was watching me. I got to my class and I still had five minutes before class but people were going in and the teacher was there so I walked in. I walked over to the teacher who saw me coming and smiled.
“You must be the new girl, Mia Parker.” the teacher said
“Yes, that’s me.” I said
“Nice to meet you and I’m Mrs Brown.” Mrs Brown said
“Nice to meet you.” I said
“This is are new student Mia Parker, now I hope you make her feel welcome and would anybody like to invite her to sit with them.” Mrs Brown said
“She can come sit with us.” this pretty girl said
“That’s nice of you Nicole.” Mrs Brown said
“You will like those girls there very popular and nice.” Mrs Brown said
“Thank you.” I said
So I walked to the back table where Nicole and her friends were.
“Hello my name is Nicole and this is Jessica, Nina and Clare.” Nicole said
“Hello, nice to meet ya.” I said
“Sit down; I was just wondering were you that girl who was sitting on the black car out the front with that total hot guy?” Nicole said
“Yes that was me.” I said
“You lucky person, he was totally hot and the car is so cool.” Nicole said
“So where ya from Mia?” Jessica said
“New York.” I said
“Cool I love New York.” Jessica said
“Here comes the boys watch out.” Nicole said
“The boys are Ben who’s Nic’s boyfriend, James, my boyfriend, Joel who’s Nina’s boyfriend, Michael who’s Clare boyfriend and Caleb who has no girlfriend by the way.” Jessica said with a look that said you should go out with him.
The boys sat at the table beside us.
“Hey girls, hey Nicole.” Ben said with a kiss on her cheek
“Who’s the new girl?” James said to Jessica
“This is Mia Parker” Nicole said
“Hi I’m James.” James said and he shakes my hand
“Nice to meet you.” I said
“Hello I’m Ben.” Ben said
“Hi I’m Joel.” Joel said
“Hello I’m Michael.” Michael said
“Hey I’m Caleb, nice to meet you.” Caleb said and he came over and shakes my hand to.
“Nice to meet you all.” I said
“So where have you moved from?” Caleb asked
“New York.” I said
“Cool.” Caleb said
“Hey were you that girl who was sitting on that Mercedes outside the school?” Ben asked
“Yes that was me.” I said
“Nice car.” Ben said
“Who was the guy you were sitting with?” Nicole said
“Oh, that’s a guy who works and lives with my Grandfather.” I said
“You two look pretty close.” Nina said
“Just meant him last night because I only arrived in town last night.” I said
“Cool only that long I thought you must have been here longer then that.” Clare said
“So what class do you have?” Nicole said
“English, Maths, Biology, Sport and Art.” I said
“Cool the same has us.” Nicole said
The bell then rang, for are first class which was English. We all had the same classes at the same time even the boy which was pretty cool. We had to go you’re the way up to the top of the building to get to the class but that was pretty cool we just talked along the way and the girls seem pretty cool and nice not bitchy or anything when you think about people who are popular. We reached the class and we walked in and it was you typical English class room there were step like seats for people to sit on. The girls and boys sat up the top and we waited for the teacher to arrive. The teacher arrived about a minute after we sat down.
“Good mourning students and I hear we have a knew student Mia Parker.” the teacher said
“Yes. I’m Mia.” I said
“Nice to meet you I’m Mr Smith but everybody calls me John and you might like to know if they didn‘t tell you that this English class is also a drama class if that’s ok and you like that.” John said
“That’s great I like both.” I said
“That’s good.” John said
“We are starting at new topic today students and it is poetry and performing those poems, so I hope you can write good poems, I’m going to give each of you a topic you need to come up with poems for that topic and then you will perform some of them to the class.” John said
“Alright I want each of you to come and pick a piece of paper out of this bag and it will have you topic on it and no swapping because your going to show me what you got so I can record it, so lets start with the first row and go from there.” John said
We sat there waiting for are turn which seem like forever but we just talked about what we hope we get. Then it was are turn. Boys went first then us girls and I was the last to pick mine out and guess what it was Vampire theme.
“What did you get Mia?” John said
“I got Vampire.” I said
“What a good theme hope you can think of some good one’s for that.” John said
“I should be able to come up with something.” I said
“That’s good.” John said
So I went back to my seat and sat down with the others and they asked me what I got.
“I got Vampires.” I said
“That would be a cool topic to do, your so lucky Mia.” Nicole said
So I sat there for the rest of the lesson just coming up with ideas and I got a few. Then it was end of class and we had maths and it was on the level below.
Maths was so boring we were just doing algebra work which was so easy to complete. Then it was lunch time. We went outside and sat because it was such a beautiful day out in the sun and then I went to my bag and realised that I hadn’t packed my lunch and then I looked up and at the car park there was Darius standing there with my lunch in his hand. So I got up.
“Where you going” Nicole said
“Just going to get my lunch, I forgot it” I said
“Is that the cute guy who was here in morning” Nicole said
“Yes that’s him and I better start walking before he comes and gets me, be back in a minute.” I said
So I walked over to the car and he had the biggest cheekiest grin on his face.
“You forgot something” Darius said
“I know I did and thank you for bring it to school.” I said
“That’s ok, are they your new friends by any chance?” Darius asked
“Yes they are” I said
“Well I might just go over there and meet them” Darius said
“Well I don’t care if you do, go” I said
“Well I will” Darius said
He walked over to them I couldn’t believe I thought he would of chickened out of it but he didn’t and I was following him over. We reached them and I think they couldn’t believe it either.
“Um, this is Darius” I said
“Hello my fine ladies” Darius said
And everybody let out a little laugh.
“Darius this is Nicole, Jessica, Nina and Clare” I said
He then kissed each one of there hands and I couldn’t believe I didn’t get a kiss on the hand last night, how rude. They all gave out there little girly laugh.
“You have nice friends Mia” Darius said
“Thanks and here comes the boys” I said
“Hello girls and that’s the guy with the cool car?” Ban asked
“This is Darius and he is Mia’s friend” Nicole said
“Thanks about having a cool car” Darius said
“It is and by the way this is James, Joel, Michael, Caleb and I’m Ben” Ben said
“Nice to meet you all” Darius said
And he shake all there hands. Then we stood there in silence for fare while.
“Well it was nice meeting you all and I hope to see you all again and Mia will you walk me to my car.” Darius said
“Yes I guess so” I said
So we walked to where his car was parked, in total silence not a word.
“You do have nice friends Mia.” Darius said
“Thanks” I said
“I told you that you would fit in perfectly didn’t I” Darius said
“You were right” I said
“I know I was right, I’m always right” Darius said
“Are you always this cocky” I said
“Yeah pretty much all the time mate” Darius said
“Well I think I better be cocky right back mate” I said
“Yeah you better be” Darius said
Darius got into his car and I bent down to the window to talk to him more.
“Oh yeah I forgot something last night” Darius said
And then he kissed me on the side of my cheek, I couldn’t believe it and after he did it he had one of his cheeky grins which I was starting to really like.
“See ya when I come and pick you up” Darius said
“Bye then” I said
Then I walked back over to the others and sat down again.
“He seems really nice” Nicole said
“Yeah he is nice.” I said
So we sat there for the rest of lunch just talking about random things until it was class time. I had biology after lunch, until the end of class, which was at 3.30. On the way out of school I was talking to the girls and they asked.
“We thought we might have a welcome party for you tomorrow” Nicole said
“That would be great but will just to check with my mum” I said
“Yeah that’s cool we can talk tonight if you like.” Nicole said
“Yeah that sounds great, see ya there’s my ride.” I said
They all said see ya to me. I walked over to the car and Darius had the music going loud and the windows up, I don’t even think he notice me because when I open the car door to get in he jumped about ten foot in the air it was so funny.
“Ha, Ha aren’t you funny, how was the rest of your day” Darius said
“Yeah I know and the rest of my day was cool” I said
So we drove home in silence except the music was playing really loud. When I got home I went straight up to my room and dumped my bag and went back down to the kitchen, where I found Mum and Joseph.
“How was your first day of school?” Mum asked
“It was good, made friends” I said
“That’s good then.” Mum said
“Mum I we doing anything tomorrow?” I asked
“No nothing, why” Mum said
“Well couple of my new friends asked if I would like to go out with them, sought of a welcome to a new town.” I said
“Well I think it should be ok, if you don’t get drunk or in trouble” Mum said
“Mum would I ever do that sought of thing and thank you” I said
I went back up to my room to get it together a bit more. We had tea at 6 o’clock and the Nicole rung me at 7 o’clock and I told her that I could go out and she was so excited and we decided that she would come and pick me up at 6:30 tomorrow night.
